On April 25th, 2022, the handover ceremony of the ambulance simulation model took place at the Paramedic Simulation Training Room, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine. This is the first ambulance simulation model in Vietnam marking a big turning point in practical training for Paramedic nurses - Faculty of Nursing - Medical Technology, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
The Ambulance simulation model is equipped and operated like a real ambulance through prepared and preset situations/scenarios, thereby promising high expectations in the training of personnel paramedic. Students will experience the urgency at the scene right in the training room, the difficulty of providing follow-up care and performing techniques for patients right on the ambulance while the vehicle is moving. In addition, it also helps students increase endurance and develop skills to practice first aid in a learning environment for later careers.

During the handover ceremony of the ambulance simulation model, Prof. Nguyen Tan Binh, MD., PhD. – Former Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, Former Rector of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine shared his thoughts and aspirations about the development of the Paramedic Department in Ho Chi Minh City and the investment in ambulance simulation model for Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in training is the first step for this development in the future.

The ceremony took place in a warm but no less solemn atmosphere since the visionary and enthusiastic leaders and teachers who contributed the development of the Paramedic Department for Ho Chi Minh City. This event has helped everyone to reminisce about the difficult time that have been passed and the next steps that need to be overcome. Assoc. Prof. Cao Van Thinh, PhD. - Former Dean, Advisor of the Faculty of Nursing - Medical Technology shared his determination in the development of the Paramedic Department when he was still in office and until now he has always followed up and wholeheartedly support the development of the industry.

MSc. Pham Minh Nhut - Lecturer in the Paramedic Department on behalf of the teaching staff operating the Ambulance simulation said: “We are very pleased to receive the Ambulance simulation model since previously, teaching simulated situations that required the use of real ambulances brought some difficulties, pressures on time, technique, and safety for lecturers and students. Today, this issue has been resolved. We hope in the future to always receive the attention and support from the City's Leaders, the Department of Health, the University’s Board of Rectors, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing - Medical Technology, as well as the technical support during operation from Simleader Company - Canada”.

This ceremony is an affirmation of the intensive care from the leaders of the People's Committee, the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City for Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, as well as encouragement and help for the Paramedic Department to develop more steadily in the future.
